Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah presided the event and extended his congratulations towards the country’s headship as well as to the citizens who attended the event. Minister Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah went on to explain that Kuwait Motor City has been a long-standing project which aims to develop and promote motorsports in the country as well as to provide an avenue for gear enthusiasts to carry out their hobbies and passion for the sport.

In the words of Minister Ali Jarrah Al-Sabah, Kuwait Motor City is a dream that has become a reality through the unwavering care and support from His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and goes on to say that through Kuwait Motor City, the youth of the country has now more avenues to make use of their energy in a positive manner.

Furthermore, local motorsport athletes will highly benefit from this world-class facility for the testing and development of their skills.

The Amiri Diwan of Kuwait was designated to bring this prestigious project that upholds regional and international standards for motorsports to remarkable completion. The minister is also hoping that Kuwait Motor City would play host to various regional and international motorsport events, noting that the venue was specifically designed to carry out such tasks.

According to the Administrative and Financial Chief of the Amiri Diwan, Abdulaziz Eshaq, Kuwait Motor City was built in 14 months on a land area of 2.6M sqm. Conceptualized by the Amiri Diwan, Kuwait Motor City was a project carried out by German circuit engineer Hermann Tilke. The project houses seven circuits and various tracks to specifically cater to the different requirements of several motorsport disciplines.

The main track with a length of 5,610 metres will be the primary venue for the major racing events in Motor City whereas the 1,750-metre track is perfectly suited for international Kart racing events. Motor City also has tracks ready for dune, rally, and Motocross racing events, shared Eshaq.

As an important venue for major racing events, Kuwait Motor City is capable of accommodating up to 8,000 spectators at a time, not to mention its huge VIP halls as well as 32 vehicle repair terminals, and a parking lot big enough to house over 3,000 land vehicles.
