PHILIPPINES: The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) said Saturday it is still reviewing an incident at the NAIA Terminal 3 OFW Lounge involving a worker who had just returned from Dubai. The agency also used its Facebook statement to remind arriving OFWs where they can find support.
OWWA said the worker was admitted to the lounge, where staff helped with registration and baggage. The OFW had no connecting domestic flight and planned to travel home to Romblon by land and sea. The agency said staff still allowed entry as a gesture of help.
The lounge is in the departure area and mainly serves OFWs with departing or connecting flights. Arriving workers who need transportation, food, or temporary accommodation can go to the OWWA Airport Arrival Assistance Desk past Customs at NAIA Terminals 1 and 3.
OWWA said it will correct any shortcomings and release verified facts “fairly and with respect for everyone” once the review is complete.
