The book fair features not just books written in Arabic, but also loads of books released by American publishers, most of which have their own stalls at the venue. Guests can check out over a thousand book titles in English at this year’s fair.

Despite the fact that the opening day had been met with bad weather in the country, it didn’t stop the event-goers and the book faithfuls to troop the venue to look for their favourite new titles and well-loved classic materials.

Upon arriving at the exhibition grounds, guests will be welcomed by the enticing smell of books as well as the aroma of corn, nachos, and shawarma set up at the entrance of the venue. This is to ensure that guests will not be kept hungry as they scour the area for their treasured finds.

The fair is set up in halls 5, 6, and 7 of the international fairground in Mishref. The fair will run from the 15th of November up until the 25th. Opening hours are from 9 AM to 1 PM and then 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM from Saturday to Thursday. On Fridays, the fair opens from 4 PM to 10 PM. To know more about the event, you can check out the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Literature’s website.
