Soon, Lower Airport Fees for All International Flights to Take Effect

According to the State Minister for Housing Affairs and the State Minister for Services Affairs, Abdullah Marafi, a ministerial decision was approved, lowering the airport fees to KD 3 for departure and KD 2 for arrival, the Kuwait Times reported.

The approved new set of airport fees will be charged directly into the airline ticket paid by the passenger. The decision will take effect on June 1, 2021.

The charges were based on the previous decision, as stated by the Directorate-General for Civil Aviation (DGCA) spokesman Saad Al-Otaibi.

These fees were approved a long time ago and are basically a reduction of the old KD 8 charges (KD 4 on departure and KD 4 on arrival). In fact, KD 5 is one of the lowest airport fees in the world. The decision will be effective from June 1 and applies to all passengers,” Otaibi explained.

With this development, Kuwait will be one of the countries that charge the lowest airport fees in the world.

This is great news for anyone who’s planning to go to Kuwait, whether for work or other purposes. Travelers will be paying much lesser airport fees starting this year.
