In the same manner, Kuwaitis who are staying in the countries banned for travel may also return to Kuwait under specified dates, the Arab Times reported.
Kuwait banned the entry of travelers coming from high-risk countries or those with a high number of COVID-19 cases. In fact, there were 35 countries identified, and considered among those as banned for travel according to Assistant Director-General for Airport Affairs Saleh Al-Fadaghi.
He added that the said measure aims to prevent the country’s healthcare system from collapsing due to the possibility of it becoming overwhelmed by coronavirus patients.
Meanwhile, all passengers arriving in the country are required to undergo a series of precautionary measures and this shall be strictly enforced by airport officials.
In line with this, they must first register through the government’s online travel registration portal (https://kuwaitmosafer.com/home.html) and then request a travel insurance document that will ensure their medical coverage for COVID-19.
And finally, they must be able to present a negative COVID-19 test result, which must be conducted in the first 96 hours before their arrival date. This will be followed by a 14-day home quarantine as mandated by health officials in Kuwait.
